Another Week, Another Hate Crime At The World OutGames In Copenhagen

A 31-year-old city man was arrested yesterday at St. Jakobs Church in Østerbro, where he allegedly threw the explosives at the games’ track and field participants at Østerbro Stadium. The perpetrator managed to throw two bombs before police arrived on the scene and took him into custody.
This is the second hate crime charge in less than a week in connection with the World Outgames in Copenhagen.
On Friday last week, two men were charged with hate crimes after attacking three gay men attending the World Outgames event.
A hate crime is defined as being when the perpetrator’s motivation is the victim’s sexual orientation, religion or race.
The World Outgames is a sporting, cultural and human rights event for gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender people being held in Copenhagen from 22 July to 2 August.
