Pardon Me, Mr. Rampage
LGBT, NewsBites, Sports — By Speak Equal on June 1, 2010 at 8:20 amQuinton “Rampage” Jackson, an Ultimate Fighting Championship former light heavyweight title-holder and current co-star in the upcoming film, “The A-Team” has found himself in the midst of a precarious situation.
“Rampage” Jackson isn’t getting the attention a budding movie star and former MMA champion could expect. Instead, he’s being heralded as a homophobe and a bigot for a recent verbal attack launched against a photographer on the Vancouver-based set for the movie.
Reportedly, a photographer, jokingly or not, called Jackson a homophobic epithet. Jackson responded by hurling every gay slur conceivable and throwing the gentleman out of his trailer.
So, what’s gotten in Jackson’s craw?
“Acting is kind of gay,” Jackson said. “It makes you soft. You got all these people combing your hair and putting a coat over your shoulders when you’re cold. I don’t want a coat over my shoulders! I’m a tough-ass m*therf*cker! [...] “Vancouver strikes me as a San Francisco-kind of place,” he continued. “And I don’t want m*therf*ckers getting ideas about me. I feel in my heart I’m the toughest m*therf*cker on the planet. And I don’t want nothing changing my train of thought. If you don’t believe that when we step inside the octagon, it shows.”
Well, I wasn’t questioning his sexuality before, but after seeing how defensive he is regarding it … well … kinda makes you wonder, doesn’t it?
At any rate, regardless of who’s gay or straight, check out the trailer for the upcoming movie and reminisce on the very amazing original Mr. T, who didn’t have to waste time defending himself against questions no one asked.
