Barbara Streisand Disappointed in Obama

In an interview with Larry King, Barbara Streisand states, “At first, maybe a little, because I would have liked to have him use his executive privilege to, if that’s possible legally, to get rid of something like ‘don’t ask, don’t tell,’” she said. “I think people admire real strength, even though it’s misguided.”

Judging by this last election, Ms. Streisand isn’t the only one feeling a little disappointed with Washington’s continued misguidance. Republicans narrowed the majority in the House, took over the majority in the Senate, and claimed the majority of gubernatorial seats across the country.

Such a sweeping change hasn’t happened in our country in decades and has many progressives and Democrats scrambling to push through last-minute legislation on Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell, economic reform, and even reform pertaining to school lunchroom diets.

Who can tell what the elections of 2012 will look like, but we can only brace ourselves against what could potentially be a bloodbath.
